Re: Pecan Nuts (southern variety)

Hi,
Im not quite sure that you will get what you are expecting if you plant the pecan.  You will get pecans eventually, but they will likely be small we call the small nuts (Seedlings) and they do not bring near as high a price as larger varieties .  All of the trees we grow are grafted.  From Pecan Country S. Georgia.

Does anyone know of a company that sells pecans for direct planting in the soil? Also, is stratification required prior to planting and is it too late this year to plant them?  I would appreciate any help you can provide. Also, does anyone know of a source for pecan seedlings.  I have searched and literally given up.  I located seedlings in Oregon, but I feel that they are not the best adapted rootstock variety for NW Florida. Thanks for the Willow Water recipes and information and any information you may provide. Mauldin Carterd*@prodigy.comorm*@prodigy.net
