Have saved those silica packets for ages, and gotten them from my pharmacist,
but seldom use them. Actually I have excellent luck with rhododendron seeds
(tiny seeds in a large pod which have to dry out before the seeds are expelled)
by placing the pods (with ID) in ordinary envelopes and placing them on a high
shelf in the kitchen for the winter. When I sow them in Jan or Feb the envelope
has lots of the little seeds ready to go. Never troubled with mold even if the
pods are wet when picked in the fall.
