Although all the book I have seem to suggest hesperis are easy to
germinate by simply sowing out of doors, I have never had any luck.
This year I intend to start the white kind in flats and transplant. Has
anyone done this and if so what method is successful. Also, are the
white harder to germinate than the purple? I've grown purple and had a
gorgeous fragrant display that lasted a long time. But nary a white.
