My garden book A-Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants gives this information on
your plant:
There are 5 species of rhizomatous, creeping perennials from woods in C and
S. Europe and Siberia to the Himalayas, China and Japan. They die back
after producing solitary bell-shaped flowers in spring. Grows in woodland.
All parts are highly toxic if ingested. Grow in humus-rich - leafy, moist
but well drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil in partial shade.
Propagation by seed sow in containers in a cold frame in autumn. Divide in
spring.
S. carniolica blooms mid and late spring.
Hope you have good luck with your seeds.
Kate Wilson
