Hi Karen ! Pimpinella rhodanta was donated by me in the 98-99 NARGS Seed Exchange. Like many species of the Umbelliferae family it may require a chilling period, and I would suggest a 70-40-70 cycle leaving the seeds at 70 for 4 weeks then letting them stay in the fridge for at least 8 weeks, and then shifting them back to 70. Germination might occur at all three stages, but unless all germinate, or you already have enough seedlings go through the complete cycle.I have never grown P.rhodanta from seed myself, but got these from a botanic garden. Don't know its origin. It's hardy in Sweden, so it should do well in Michigan as well.
Paul
