Tony,
Most of the time when the seeds call for darkness to germinate, simply
planting them at the correct depth will suffice. When more darkness is
needed plant the seeds and then cover the entire flat of container with
moist clean newspaper or a clean piece of glass covered with dark paper,
black plastic, or painted black. Watch for germination daily, as the
covering needs to be removed as soon as you see some green.
