I guess I should do so, as well...
My name is Asle Serigstad. I live in the south-vest coast of Norway, by a
small town called Bryne. My climate is wet and mild, and comparable to USDA
zone 7, Scandinavian zone 2, with winter temp. rarely below -10 C, min. -18 C.
I have been running a small perennial nursery for tree years now. My idea is
to offer lots of varieties people don't get from other nurseries, because
the number of varieties to choose from on the marked isn't that large. At
the moment I have around 500 different perennials to offer, but more will
come. I have been a very busy seed swapper this fall and winter, and I'm
always looking for new seeds and plants.
My specific interest in plants... I don't know... I guess I have lots. Some
of my favourites are: Androsace, Dionysia, Saxifraga, Gentiana, Ligularia,
Helleborus, Meconopsis, Primula and Lewisia. As you can see, many alpines
and rock garden plants. The best selling plants in my nursery have been
Saxifraga arendsii cultivars, and Aubrieta. Low cushions, alpines and rock
garden plants are popular, but so is Delpiniums.
I am a member of NARGS, AGS, SRGC, STA and Norsk Hageselskap. I have a
homepage on the net, where I try to supply information about perennials, and
time will show how it developes. At the moment it contains info about a few
genera, germination methods for perennial seeds, links to gardening, and my
seed swap list. Be free to mail me about this or anything else. I am looking
forward to exchanging information with you people on this list, it has great
potential.
Thanks.
Asle
