This used to be the bane of my (horticultural) life. Assuming you mean
white threads (mycelium) across the surface of the compost. Strangling
any seedlings that got through the thicket. Yuk!

Bordeaux mixture (copper solution plus ?) didn't prevent or kill it, and
scraping it off was only a temporary relief.

Since then, I have moved, and the problem is far less, despite using the
same compost (I actually brought the bag with me on the move!)
propagator, etc.

I don't know what it was, or whether it was in the air or the water at
my old place. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to stop it?
