Acer japonicum seeds

I think Acer seeds require cold wet stratification and therefore the ones 
you buy that have been dried do not germinate well.  A walk through an 
arboretum would be more productive - ask if you may gather a few seeds.  
The winter weather they have endured out of doors will help them sprout.
