Norm made some comments in the fifth printing of his second edition dated
June 1st 1994. In particular, on page 52 he says 'Experiments were started
in Jan 1994 to determine if Pro-gibb containing 10% GA-3 is as effective as
95% GA-3. It was stated in the fourth printing that preliminary results
indicated that it was equally effective when used in ten times the weight in
order to give a correspinding equivalent concentraation of GA-3. This
conclusion has now been revised. Sopmetimes it gave equivalent results,
sometimes poorer results, and sometimes it failed. Thus 95% pure GA-3 is
preferred. There is also a Pro-Gibb product containing 30% GA-3. It is
presumed that it would be effective if the 10% Pro-Gibb were effective
providing the 30% Pro-Goibb was used in the same concentrations. I am
concerned that these Pro-Gibb products contain other giberellins which could
alter the results.'
The 95% concentrate was not available for agricultural use at the time.

David Victor
