Since I started exchanging seeds on the Net in April last year, I have
swapped seed of over 300 different species of plant.I found all of these
through Gardenexchange on the Forums and 4 or 5 other exchanges.I had never
used a computer in my life before and I managed to find these sites by
clicking on to links that other people such as Asle have listed or by using
the search engines. There are a lot of people out there with interesting
seed-lists if you have something worthwhile to exchange.I grow very few
'rock garden plants' so I have not been exchanging with people offering these.
I was interested in this group as a means to learning more about propagating
plants I had not tried before. The information on propagation so far has been
very useful and the advice on cuttings particularly so, but now we seem to
be getting into difficulties over the nature of the group.Perhaps it would
be easier if it was renamed 'plant -propagation 'or some such?
I wonder also if it would be possible for members with an interest in
seed-exchange to join the UK group
<plant-exchange@gpdesign.demon.co.uk>
This group exists as a seed -exchange and is short of activity at the
moment. It is supposed to be a UK group but does not appear to mind members
from outside the UK.It might provide a useful vehicle for members to
exchange seed and meet up with other seed swappers.
