Hi,Jane this subject gives me a good reason to write you at least a
quick note!Sorry I never got back to you but I'm as I previously
explained gearing up for the coming season and trying to at least
monitor the activity on all the lists as well.
I do have one related subject before I forget,Do you have a method or
tecnique/ system for maintaining your seed stock inventory?.I always
start off with good intentions but somehow as the season puts more
pressure on me I fall miserably behind and all becomes a big mess (which
I'm now trying to re-organize).As you can imagine as a consquence many
have been overlooked for sometime and I'm no longer confident that they
are viable. So any pointers, thoughts etc.would be most helpful and
appreciated.Perhaps I'm just not naturally an organized person but
alway aspiring to be so.
Lastly I noticed your post said a "plant exchange"is that possible with
international boundaries ?To meet all the Photo sanitary requirements
wouldnt that be very expensive?Or am I just mistaken about these
requirements?
On a more personal level how are you doing with your germination, flats
etc.?Is the weather starting to favor growing now?We are very wet this
winter.180%of normal snowpack in the mountains,we had flooding down in
the low lands and just generally had enough, ready for SPRING.
Sadly I received the Lobelia d. in the mail today from John G.but it
appears ,there was no hand stamp on envelope and it looks like most if
not all seed was crushed.Nothing to do but try to germinate them to find
out.Have you started yours yet?Let me know if so,I might benefit from
your experience.
That enough questions for one session, huh?Always enjoy hearing from you.
Glad you've stayed on with the list but do agree that I think the
Medit.list is probably the most friendly as well as one of the more
knowledgeable around..I appreciate your offer of seed but as I tally
what I have on hand and havent attended to I fear I cant responsibly
take more and just compound my problems (and shortcomings). When I told
you (or was it Ingrid)I consider myself a complusive where seed
attainment is concerned.
How did your email correspondence with Magnar go? isnt it lovely to be
able to converse with such wonderful ease with folks all over the world?
Will close now and hope to hear from you soon ..Connie
P.S.Is there any vegetable seed that interests you ?I'd be happy to
share
before they expire completely!!
