What in the world prompted you to remove all your soil?  I just can't fathom
such an undertaking!  Did you ammend the soil that your put in the berm?
With what?  What did you plant there?  All those arisemas?  A pound of seed!
Wow!  Bet you can't wait to see the results of those efforts this spring!
