Grafting using plant rooting hormones

I was not clear from the article, whether the hormone is applied to only the
scion or to both the rootstock and the scion - which is it?   nan

It is our understanding in

that the rooting hormones are applied to the graft union.
From personal correspondance with NAFEX members the suggested use is dry
powder rooting hormones such as Rhizopon AA #1.
It has not been trialed but I would suggest that the two ends of the union
be soaked in a water solution containg rooting hormones such as Rhizopon AA
Water Soluble Tablets at 3-5 tablets per liter of water for 5-10 minutes
then make the union.
