Windy,
To germinate trumpet lily seeds, all you do is treat them like any other
seed. Warmth and under lights. I started mine today. When they are
growing well, check the root to make sure tiny bulblets have formed.
Then you can either
a) sheer off the top growth, bag(to stop them drying out) and put pot in
fridge (NOT FREEZER) to simulate winter. After a few weeks (8 -12) put
them back under lights in the warmth.
or
b) Just let them grow on under lights without vernalization. Gently slip
whole clump of grassy looking leaves out of pot after last frost date and
plant in shaded nursery area for a year or so. Don't let them dry out.
Don't let them get soggy. Keep slugs away.
I've grown them both ways.
Trumpets germinate very easily. Just glorious when in bloom. Good luck
with them.
