Freshly harvested 27 spp. of ornamental plants. Chilled for 4 wks. at 1.5C. or
treated with GA3 or a combination of both. Germ. counted after 4 wks. at 23C in
light. Both chilling and GA3 improved germ.of all spp. which showed some germ.
in control but less than 100%. Species were: Iris mellita, Ranunculus lingua,
Penstemongrandiflorus, Olearia macrodonta major, Meconopis cambrica,
Ameria arctica, Silene maritima, Carum carvi, Thalictrum chelidonii, Plantago
lanceolata, Polemonium caeruleum, Libertia grandiflora, Lilium auratum, Linaria
purpurea, Gaultheria shallon, Meconopsis grandis, Ranunculus auricomus,
Digitalis purpurea, Campanula persicifolia, Bryonia dioica, Cupressus
