Re: Propagation strategies for July


Hi this is my first one I've gotten, so I hope I've sent it right. In
response to Duncan, I do know that plants that are setting seed need calcium
more at that time than any other time. It makes the seeds more viable, longer
lived, etc. My favorite way to get that calcium in is to crush eggshells or
crab shells and add them to the soil about a month ahead of time. Dolomitic
limestone is also a source of calcium. Both methods are double beneficial if
your soil is acid like mine.
