I am having some native grass seed grown for increase by a seed farm.
The first year's 'handshake'
agreement had some ambiguities, and I am looking for typical language
for a written agreement -- for me to provide seed, have perennial
grasses planted, and to maintain them and receive seed produced. Issues
include how to wind up such an agreement, who owns the plants in the
field produced from my original seed; who owns secondary plants that
come up from seed dropped in the field during seed harvest.
We are doing DNA fingerprinting of the plants to compare them tot he
wild site plants; there is some possibility of commercial value to
these, which is not of interest to me but should be dealt with explicitly.
This is in California, USA, but any thoughts/suggestions would be welcome.
