Dear Dirk and interested others,
RE: Poison Ivy
I have used TECNU Skin Cleanser for several years; it is a stock item in
my first aid kit and I tell everyone about it. It works wonders for me,
for my husband, family, friends, and neighbors. I highly recommend it.
Jon, my husband, reacts so strongly to poison ivy that he always had to
go to the doctor for steroid shots; he hasn't had a shot in at least
five years in spite of having contracted poison ivy at least
twice/year! I *do* have a hard time finding TECNU so I suggest you buy
it before you need it.
RE: topical protectants
I've not tried GLOVE IN A BOTTLE but I do use Farmer's Friend Hand
Salve, manufactured by Burt's Bees, in Creedmor, NC. It's made of all
natural products *and* repels insects. It might smell a little too
feminine for some of the list readers but my fingertips haven't bled
from cracking once since I started using it three years ago.
