There are no IAA based talc powder formulations that I know of in
production. In fact I do not know of anyone who routinely uses any
formulation of IAA as it is a naturally occurring compound subject to very
quick photo & biological deactivation.
The first three listed below are those that I have had experience with and
currently have in my refrigerator. There may be others available and there
are several liquid formulations as well.
Talc Based Rooting Compounds
"Hormex" Brooker Chemical Corp. 0.1 - 4.5% IBA (series) I think they
have stopped production of this product.
"Hormodin" MSD-Agvet (Merck & Co.) 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.8% IBA (series)
"Rootone" Phone-Poulenc Ag. Co. 0.1% IBA + 0.03% NAA + NAM +NAD +thiram
(NAD & NAM are variations of NAA)
"Hormo-Root" Hortus Products 15% Thiram (fungicide) plus 0.1 - 4.0% IBA
(series)
