Propagation of Amorph. titanum

Until recently, it was thought that the only way to propagate this plant
was from seed collected in the wild. However, recently, several tubers
were left in 10 inch pots for over 3 1/2 years. The pots grew round like
basketballs and burst the pots. When they were finally unpotted, it was
found that instead of a single tuber in each pot, their were five or six
smaller ones. So, the conclusion was that when put in a tight place and
constricted to the point of torture, they will devide. In nature, it does
not do this because there is no constriction. Thus, it was believed that
seed were the only way. Several people have tried to bring back tubers
collected in the wild... They usually rotted within one or two days and
were not good growers if the did manage to make it back to the US.

Now, this plant is in limited Tissue Culture and I will have several in a
few months.
