Have dug and divided my martagon lilies, found 12 nice bulbs where there had
been 5. However, there are several large scales floating around in the soil as
well, has anyone ever tried to used these to produce bulbs. I've done it with
sand in a trench outside in a shady part of the garden, with asiatic lilies
with some success. Anything different I should know about martagons? What is
recommended in the way of replanting them - hold off, dust with a fungicide
and then replant immediately, pot up in separate pots and coldframe them till
spring?
Any informed suggestions welcome. Thanks. Joanne in Zone 6b/PA
