I've picked up a lot of useful information on this list - I have 2 lists of
my own that keep me busy so I don't post much - but read just about
everything.
I'd like to learn more about propagating from cuttings, overwintering,
etc., but they don't belong on a seeds list. Could we possibly discuss -
or enter our names and interests - to swap seeds?
I prefer starting from seed - survival rate isn't great but its very
satisfying to watch a plant grow and bloom that you've started on your own
instead of just lugging home from a nursery. I have 10 poppy buds out
there I'm so anxious to see bloom - I mixed a plain red seed with the black
peony type from T&M - and they're in a pot.
I'd like to know more about growing perennials from seed - when to start,
can they be started in summer, how to overwinter the seedlings, etc., etc.
I'm also looking for new ideas for plants hardy to zones 3 and 4.
Hope this has been some help, Duncan - I'll try to participate more.
