Re:Perennial catalogs

 one have any suggestions? >>

If you are looking for a comprehensive perennial seed catalog, (and can
handle Latin names), I recommend the Jellito seed company of Germany. They
claim to offer over 2,500 varieties of perennial seed, and without counting, I
believe them. Their prices may be high (and in Deutschmark!), but boy, what
choices.
They now have an American office, and I'm sure they can help you there with
the conversion to dM. The address is:

Jellito Seed Company
125 Chenoweth Ln.
Louisville, KY 40207

Another very interesting company is the quirky Arrowhead Alpines. The most
recent catalog I have from them (95) includes over 4,000 varieties, heavy of
course on rock garden plants, but still a very comprehensive offering. Again,
knowledge of Latin names is required. Their address is:

Arrowhead Alpines
PO Box 857
Fowlerville Mi 48836

With the above two, you had better know your plants, or have a sense of
adventure, as they give virtually no cultural information in their catalogs.
As for a more approachable catalog for the less intrepid gardener, I suggest
my old favorite Johnny's Seeds. They offer a growing number of flower seeds
each year, and their cultural information is excellent. They also have a web
site. It is "http://www.johnnyseeds.com". Their physical address is:

Johnny's Selected Seeds
Foss Hill Rd.
Albion Me. 04910

I hope this helps with your search for a good source of perennial seeds. Good
luck, and happy browsing.
