Re: ivy vs spider mites

Hi Dawn,
Can't help you with spider mites. We are plagued by them in the spring and
early summer. They especially attack our begonias and impatiens. I'd like
to find a shade-loving, flowering plant that spider mites don't like.

Our pool is in full sun from sunrise to sunset. We have hibiscus and
geraniums which do very well in pots on the deck around the pool.
We've tried many other plants. These seem to hold up the best and bloom
right through the fall. Whatever you plant in containers in full sun,
however, will still need lots of water. At least here in hot and humid zone
7 Maryland that's the case.
