Re: Starting Woodland Plants from Seed

Your experience is in keeping with Norman Deno's [SEED GERMINATION: 
THEORY AND PRACTICE] work on the closely related Cornus suecica.  So dry 
storage probably doesn't affect the bunchberries.  As to taking several 
years to germinate: perhaps the berries need to go through a grouse!

So many woodland plants, and expecially those from regions with rainy 
summers [ie, ne US, east Asia] have seeds that are damaged by dry 
storage, that I assume special treatment is required unless proven otherwise.
