Best you harvest them instead of letting them fall in the garden Linda. They
are almost too easy to start. They reseed everywhere in my garden and they
are hard to pull out unless you catch them little. Starting the seeds is
fairly easy. Let them dry out for a bit then sow them at 4x their depth
under granite grit or your choice of seed dressing. They may germinate
erratically, but they will be up within 30 days or so without any cold
treatment. I sow mine in winter for healthy transplants come spring, but I
have a greenhouse. If you don't have a greenhouse it might be better to sow
them after they've had a chance to cure and transplant in late summer or
early fall. Or wait until next spring to sow them. Mulch well the first year
if you don't have dependable snow cover to avoid frost heaving.
Grow well,
Amber
