I ran to the garage in some alarm and checked the Sakrete bag.
Whew! Sakrete has expanded its product line beyond concrete, and my bag
does say "all-purpose sand". It also claims to be good for soil
conditioning, although it seems rather fine to me.
How does sharp sand act in the soil, as opposed to rounded sand?
What is our equivalent of silver sand? The Thompson & Morgan
Germination Times recommends mixing fine seed with silver sand and
sowing the mixture. I recall that some household product will do just
as well, but can't remember what it was....cornmeal, perhaps?
