Re: clay

Are you asking how to get the clay out of soil? If you are, then i know a
very messy and water wasteful way but it will work. When manufacturers of
clay tiles are cleaning the clay from natural deposits, they put it in vats
and add water till the organic matter floats out, then they skim off all that
good stuff and they have clay left over. I dont know about sand sice usually
theres only leaves in there but it will separate the humus out of the clay.
You can try this in a small bucket to see if it works for you. Thats the hard
way. Another but more time consuming is to let the soil dry and then screen
it out. Break up the large clods and screen them with fine mesh. Make sure
theres hardly any wind or youll lose the clay.
