Re: Buddleia alternafolia

What I found is that if you use cutting (preferably tip-cuttings) there
is a better chance of survival and root initiation. For a better
survival chance i recomend the following materials:

    - 8000ppm IBA Talc/ or 2-3% IBA in solution
    - a potting mixture of 4:1:1 peat, sand, perlite

With the addition of the hormone and well drain soil, there should be a
least a 75% survival in a mist system. If you don't have a mist system
you could keep the plants in a well lighted place ( not in the direct
light) and keep it covered during the day and night with a clear platic,
this is to prevent water evaporation from the leaves during the day. You
must be careful you don't cook the plant ( very easily done in direct
light). The cuttings should should only have about 1-2 leaves and have
at least 4 nodes. Make sure your cuttings have enought leaf surface area
to photosynthesis, but just not to much in order to reduce leaf water
evaporation.

Hope it works, keep me posted
