Just came in from a short weeding session in between the rain drops. This
past week has brought 4 1/2" to southeast PA and boy are the weeds loving
it! Must do some serious weeding now.
Last week I purchased an Agastache 'Firebird' and thought what a neat plant
it is. Lo and behold, when Fine Gardening arrived a couple of days ago,
there it is, mentioned in the Praiseworthy Plants section. These are easy
to start from seed and will bloom their first year if planted early enough.
The author (Panayoti Kelaidis of the Denver Botanic Garden) goes on about A.
repestris and how it's blooms remind him of a Colorado sunset.
The article also mentions that seeds are available from:
High Country Gardens
2902 Rufina Street
Santa Fe, NM 897505
800-925-9387
Rocky Mountain Rare Plants
1706 Deerpath Road
Franktown, CO 80116
catalog, $1.00
Haven't heard of these sources before, so thought I would pass them on.
