I recently used sugar in my soil to feed earthworms since I opened new beds
that were heavy soil and I wanted them to move from my good garden soil
areas into the new beds. I used it in conjunction with a top dressing of
organic matter and the worms seem happy and are reproducing- the sugar may
be calling the slugs to the area but in the Nortwest slugs are always a
problem.--Mary
