I have not done this myself but AHS says to take sucker growth in autumn or
spring.Also it states to take *semi*ripe cuttings in summer using bottom
heat.Lastly,insert root cuttings in winter..Perhaps you can sort out what you've
done already and apply some or all of the above if different ..
