Thanks for the infor - I'm going to use a cold frame and also seeding direct in the soil.
One of my gardening books - trouble shooting - said to do this, too.  Thanks again for your help.

I think trying these direct sow (or the cold frame) would work.  I think they
are like Larkspur in that they prefer the cooler temps to germinate.  Don't
these germinate in the fall or early spring generally??
