Duncan I use a large ziplock bag, one gallon for 5.5 square pots and a 2
gallon bag for one gallon pots, works very well for germination and growing
out the seedlings.
I seem to kill most of my plants after they germinate from drying out-this
solves that problem for me.
As for a heat source-the bags trap heat from the lights I use-or I put down a
thick cloth pad over a heating grate and put the pots there, or onto the top
of one of my fish aquariums.
