They should grow for you.  Could be they are in dormant mode. 
Alocasia doesn't want to be quite as wet as Colocasia.  I would pot
them up in good, rich, well draining media; keep them in a bright
warm place - but not in direct sun from south or west facing windows
- and water sparingly until you see some top growth.  Like don't let
the soil dry out but don't keep it soggy until they start to grow. 
Once you see top growth, you can be pretty sure they are thinking
roots as well.

You could also douse them with cinnamon which acts as a fungicide if
they've been right up against a big rotting tuber.....might help.
