propagating rosulate violets

I'm looking for information on propagating any of the South American
Rosulate violets; either rooting cuttings; or grafting onto northern
hemisphere species of violets( we havn't tried it but it seems like it
might be worth a shot). We have had little luck, cuttings invariably rot
before rooting, no matter when we take the cuttings. (perhaps we need to
brew stronger tea)
