I'm relatively new to the art and science of propagating
flowers. But after a few false starts, my seedlings are
now ready for transplanting. I've been saving some plastic
blister pacs from past years, bleached & washed
them, and plan to use them. If I need more, where's a good source
to purchase them? The only place that I've found
is Mellinger's, but their shipping charges are
somewhat outrageous. Just where do the commerical
growers get these plastic pacs?
Also, my seedlings have done very well in vermiculite alone.
If I started the same seedings in a commerical soil-less mix
(peatmoss + vermiculite + perlite) I had a lot of damping off.
So will my healthy seedlings which are now several weeks old,
also succumb to damping off with the commercial mix when I transplant
them into the blister pacs? If I sterilize the remainder
will I not have any problems?
I would appreciate any help that you can give me.
