As I said before, cold treatment is rarely never needed for Aquilegias, only
for a very few species. Recommended methods are often more advanced than
they need to be. I think it is a myth that dry stored seeds are difficult to
germinate, I rarely never have any problems with this. Most A. seeds i have
sown, have germinated in 2-4 weeks in 15-22 C (59-71 F), and with a percent
of 60-100. I usually sow the seeds in spring or summer, so they are usually
collected the year before. Here is my results so far this year:
