Several years ago, the "stock envelope" of D.albus from the North American
Rock Garden Society exchange came to the local chapter as part of our
surplus seed allotment. I ended up with, maybe, 200 seeds. This is the
third consecutive year I've sown seed from this stock. It goes outdoors
in January, planted about 1/4 inch deep in 4-inch or gallon pots. Last
year's seed germinated at almost 100 percent, and I'm looking forward to
more this year...
Seedling grow on nicely: I think the only fussy thing is getting them in
deep individual pots the first year: I recommend the square liner pots
with extra depth. The plants seem to establish well when planted in the
second spring [15+ months from sowing].
