Easy. Sprinkle a fine layer of granite grit over the medium. The seeds
germinate through the grit. The mosses and liverworts can't get a
foothold.
I do it with everything now. Granite grit is available at many gardening
centers, and if it's not, ask them to order it for you. I got a 40lb bag
for 6.99. If you're lucky enough to live near a feed & seed store, they
will surely have it. But avoid any grit that has crushed lime or
chemicals; only the pure granite is suitable.
And it looks purty.
