Pontederia cordata ( Pickerel Weed )

I have sown Pontederia cordata seeds which have been moist stored since collecting in clay-mixed soil and immersed the pot in water, so it is about 1/4 of an inch under the surface. They have been sitting at room temperature for well over a month now, but nothing has shown yet ( there were at least 30 seeds ). Has anyone ever germinated Pickerel Weed from seed successfully, I would very much like to hear from him/her.
