Not sure this is on topic either. But there is a piece on this archived at
http://ag.arizona.edu/hypermail/arid_gardener/0263.html . Tribulus
terrestris is legally classified as a "restricted noxious weed" in Arizona.
The caltrops-like seed capsule, locally called goat heads, travels on shoe
soles and bicycle tires - it is a serious problem for sew-ups. There are
typically 2 to 5 seeds in each seed capsule that may be dormant for years
until moisture conditions are right for germination. Not a very nice
