I don't know whether this is widely practiced or not,but a former county
agent in sw Idaho came up with a plan to plant grape cuttings upside down
for a month or so, then plant them right side up, the theory being that the
auxins that had gone to the top then would stimulate root production. It
does work. Cut bottom squarely, and top at an angle when pruning to tell
the difference for this type of propagation. Margaret L
