Hi Cindy I have recently germinated some Salvias, three ordered from Seedhunt too, and they have all germinated well at both 70 and 70D. There is a gel-like coating formed around the seeds of most Salvia species ( all I have tried except for S. forskaohlei ) and germination takes place while this gel like coating is present. It dries out after a while, even if the seeds are kept under moist conditions and then the germination rapidly ceases. S. darcyi , S. nubicola, S. roborowski, and S. forskaohlei have germinated almost 100 % in approximately a week's time. Salvia carduacea and S. columbariae are more difficult, but are stimualted by GA-3 treatment, which gives normal plants. Good luck.
Paul
