Hi all,
Was hoping there would get to be a bigger list of these; was
wandering around in the garden, and I bumped into one, the bee balm,
Mellisa officinalis variegata that is purported to come true from seed.
Anyone know if the Golden lemon balm and all these golden organos
will come true from seed- I'm not sure yet, I haven't tried.
BTW, one of three Ballota nigra variegata (ex "Archer's variety"?)
which does have a sizable % of variegated offspring rom seed, made it
through the winter in the northern part of the yard, quite a pleasant
surprise, along with getting Salvia triloba though the winter on the
south! Thus I am reminded to ask:
Does anyone know if any of the various variegated Salvias
(uliginosa, japonica, etc) will come true from seed?
Good gardening!
