Lachenalia germination - can anybody help?

I have recently bought seeds of Lachenalia viridiflora. So far I have taken the 
remarks of Deno that 'light inhibits germination' (1st supplement p 51) and tried to 
germinate them in the dark at 70F. After four weeks no luck, whereas in other 
Lachenalia species (ie not viridiflora), Deno obtained results after a few days. 
Does anyone have any suggestions?
