>Many years ago in Hawaii we started Papaya trees from seed from the papaya >fruit. I can't remember if we did anything special to the seeds first or >just planted them. Does any one know what I need to do to start a papaya >tree? >Lainey We just started some with our third grade class--having eaten the papaya first! They germinated in about 10 days. The ones under really bright lights didn't do well but the other batch, just in a window with late p.m. sun look beautiful! I read in The After Dinner Gardening book that they are very sensitive to air pollution. So far so good! Gail Gail Titcomb gailt19@idt.net
