Greg:
The Roscoea do best in deep soil rich in organic matter, which does not
dry out. My recommendation is to keep them in growth, with liquid feeds
of dilute fertilizer solution, and to pot the group on to deep pots to
accomodate the growing rhizomes. Reduce watering when foliage goes
dormant, but don't let them dry out thoroughly.
Roscoeas grow best here with several hours of sun, but protected from the
hottest sun and from drying winds. In Oz, they're likely best used in
shade gardens. They look best when planted in groups.
