Pat, I take cuttings about 6" long with 3 sets of leaves minimum. Strip
off the 2 bottom sets of leaves, dip in rootone and stick in your pot of
sand or Perlite. The stem cuttings should be flexible, this years growth,
not woody. Woody cuttings are a whole different ball game. Hope this helps.
I have been successful rooting all my shrubs with this method except
Enkianthus. If anyone knows the "secret" to rooting Enkianthus cuttings, I
will be grateful. I have tried them in every season with no luck.
